Screenplay [Trigger Warning: Strong Violence]

Black screen ['A WELCH & SPLADING PRODUCTION'] [‘COAK AND DAGGER PRESENTS’] MONDAY Screen opens with a girl (PROTAGONIST) at her laptop on a constabulary website contemplating an anonymous tip (‘IN ASSOCIATION WITH…’)

V.O: I’d like to preface this by saying I’m not a snitch.

She hears someone call her and quickly shuts her laptop lid before leaving her chair. As she moves out of frame the screen goes black again and there’s the sound of a school bell. TUESDAY Screen opens again with a tracking shot of the girl walking down a school corridor, a group of people approaching her. She makes eye contact with one of them (CU)

V.O: That’s A, but to the gang she’s known as AB [Fern]. Her specialty is theft. Quick hands and even quicker wit, she can bullshit her way out of any given scenario, from homework to ASBOS. Get on her bad side though and she’ll be just as quick to ruin your grades-

A cutaway shows AB chatting with a teacher, who evidently likes her, making her laugh. Teacher turns their back for a second and AB swipes papers from the teacher’s desk and hands them to a friend behind her, replacing the papers with another pile.

-pilfer your papers and get you on a ‘concerned phone to home’ list, it’s scary how often teachers just leave their staffrooms unlocked. Some of the best tricks pulled are thanks to the ignorance of teachers.

When we cut back PROTAGONIST is walking past a girl being told off by a teacher as she looks bored [Ring leader, Jess] they make eye contact and ring leader looks sharply at her as PROTAG gives a subtle and uncomfortable nod.We then track PROTAG into a classroom and people are already sat down, as she walks to her seat (in slow motion POV?) we see her focussing on another girl, background in small depth of field.

This one’s the ring leader’s favourite, C [Skye], the most loyal to her (the ringleader) on the account of them being foster sisters and all, but make no assumptions about her loyalty to anyone else, she’d screw you over for the sport. Quietly I’d like to cut her open just to see how deep the tar pit is inside of her. By this time she has sat down.

Time has (somehow) moved onto the end of the lesson WEDNESDAY and the PROTAGONIST checks her phone before she leaves class, she has a text from C reading [RENDEZVOUS TOMORROW 9PM] she looks over to C, who nods very subtly, hardly looking at PROTAG.

V.O: What’s your game, C?

THURSDAY Night and PROTAGONIST is approaching the rendezvous where her gang members are already waiting, all but 3 (JESS SKYE AND FERN) are hooded so that we cannot see them well, and there are roughly 8 of them, including AB and C whom we have already been introduced to. In the middle of them, watching PROTAGONIST as she approaches, is the ring leader.

RING LEADER: Alright girl? Where’ve you been all week?

PROTAGONIST attempts to mask her trepidation

RING LEADER: C here tells me you’ve been on the anonymous tip line this week, it’s in your web history so deny it and I’ll skin you.

PROTAG frowns and shoots a look at C who looks back with authoritative smirk. RING LEADER begins to push PROTAG, with quick shoves, getting closer to her face and becoming more frightening.

RING LEADER: Why’d you do it then, huh? Why’d you do it? Why did you-

Inaudible but implied swearing as RING LEADER shoves PROTAGONIST hard so that she falls on the ground, we see Fern (AB) walking towards PROTAG to join in with RING LEADER who proceeds to kicking PROTAG repeatedly in the stomach. We hear protagonist struggle and we hear impact but are only shown LOW ANGLE shot of RING LEADER as she does so. We start hearing PROTAG gasp for breath as she tries to reply to her leader.

PROTAGONIST: I didn’t do it! I did-I didn’t tip you off I swear, I was just on the website!

RING LEADER with foot on PRTOAG’s chest keeping her pinned to the floor leans down so that she’s once again invading her space. She says quieter, through gritting teeth.

RING LEADER: But why the hell were you on there to begin with?

After a moment of staring PROTAG down, RL stands up straight again and with force, shoves PROTAG away from her with boot, releasing her. As she does this, PROTAG quickly moves backwards away and begins to keel over and groan.

RL: You thought this was bad? You just try doing something like that again, we will finish you, the way you were finished before we took you in and saved you from your pathetic self. Coward.

RL spits on the floor in front of PROTAG and then signals for the gang behind her to follow, as they walk off and leave PROTAG on the ground by herself, one of the hooded gang members flicking a lit cigarette down at her. Her eyes follow C (eyeline match) spitting blood as she thinks in V.O

V.O: That brown-nosing cow has been monitoring me. She must’ve redirected my laptop’s network to go through her computer, the RL’s right-hand rat and the gang’s bloody proxy.

She wipes blood from her mouth and watches C walk away, with vengeance in her eyes.

FRIDAY tracking shot of PROTAG walking through a lonely jitty to school(maybe an extra up ahead just leaving the jitty). Camera the shows C coming up behind PROTAG authoritatively, smoking a cigarette and acting cocky (think of Curley OMAM basically)

C: Alright girl? Alright snitch? She laughs sardonically.

PROTAG ignores her and carries on walking, prompting C to shove her hard

C: Don’t even think about ignoring me girl.

PROTAG shoves her even harder, the fight breaks out.

Struggle.

Screams of frustration.

Ultimate demise.
